How I Plan a Weekend Trip in Under 30 Minutes Using Triply

If you are already reading this, then I assume you already have the Triply subscription. So, I am going to skip the “why it is great” part and show you how I actually use it. Hopefully, my perspective assists you in building your first weekend trip!

Here is exactly how I do it!

Step 1: I Start With My Budget, Not the Destination

Instead of asking myself, “Where should I go?”

I ask, “What can I realistically spend?”

Inside Triply, I check transport deals first and filter by cheapest destinations this weekend, shortest time travel, and if the destination offers a great amount of student discount availability.

I let the discounts guide me to plan my perfect weekend getaway. It is honestly the smartest way to travel as a student.

Step 2: Book Transport First

After picking the destination that best fits my budget, I immediately book the transport before anything else.

Flights or buses with student pricing tend to sell out fast, especially on the weekends when there is most availability for students to travel. Once that is secured, the rest feels easier.

Having everything stored in the app keeps me from digging through email confirmations later.

Step 3: Pick Location Over Luxury

When booking housing, I mostly prioritize: central location, access to public transport, and good reviews from other students.

I tend to not overthink it because I plan to not be in the room much anyway. So, why spend such unnecessary funds on luxury accommodation when it is not going to be properly enjoyed enough?

The student discounts inside Triply usually make better neighborhoods close to attractions affordable, which honestly changes the experience of the whole trip.

Step 4: Use the Local Experience Section Smartly

This is where most people waste time.

Instead of Googling “Top 10 Things to Do in …,” I open the local experiences tab and look for: free or discounted student museum entries, cafes students recommend, student friendly events displayed, local meetups.

I pick 3 must do things per day and then abuse the local experiences section to create timeless memories.

Step 5: Use the AI Translator Proactively

I do not wait until I am confused.

Before I arrive at my destination I translate key phrases for simple conversation (“Hello, Thank you, Bye”). Also save important locations that could be translated differently. Lastly, I preview public transport terms to learn.

So, when I land, I already feel prepared enough.

It sounds small, but it completely reduces anxiety in a new country.

Step 6: Keep It Flexible

This step I had to learn the hard way.

The best part of trips are not usually planned.

Of course, Triply gives structure, but I also leave space for random streets to traverse, local recommendations, random conversations from locals, and wandering unexpected spots.

You do not need to optimize every hour.

Final Advice From Me to You

As a subscriber, you already have the tools most students do not.

Make sure to abuse them smartly.

Travel does not need to be always perfect, it needs to be possible.

Keep your budget realistic, book smart, use the translator, stay central and local, and say yes to things that are safe and a bit outside of your comfort zone.

That is where the growth happens.

See you in the next city!
